Anyone getting above the advertised mileage?

I got 35.5mpg (measured at pump) in my last tank of mixed driving. Should do at least 37 on an extended highway trip if I keep the speed down.
Of course, my car's a FWD 6MT. YMMV.

Both my 2003 CVT 3.0 and my 2006 3.2 q TIp get about 10% more than sticker. I normally drive with the cruise on and set to 7 MPH over limit.
The CVT gets 31 while the 3.2 gets 30 mpg.
Around town forget it. I live in a small town and spend most of the time at traffic lights or creeping along.

...on the computer (average) this past Sunday with only 700 miles on the car. After a whole day, with lots of mixed driving and hills, it averaged out to 28 mpg. That's with a Quattro and Tip in the Avant.

05.5 2.0T Quattro Tip:
My driving is pretty much split 60/40 Interstate/City.
I tend to drive about 75-80 on the highway.
I haven't reset my overall trip computer for 3750 miles.
The average mpg displayed was 28.7 last time I checked.
Even if that is roughly 2 mpg high, as some have said, that's pretty damn good because I have a bit of a lead foot.
On a long (400+ mile), pure highway drive, I tend to average 30-31 displayed. That's running 80-85.
I'm very satisfied and it seems to be about 2 mpg or so (overall) better than I got with my 02 1.8T CVT.

I've noticed that setting the cruise control on the highway has increased my highway milage (displayed average at least) by at least 2 mpg.
I can only assume that the computer drives better than I do. LOL

The EPA standard tests don't come even close to representing real world driving.
I'd like to think that the vast majority of consumers realize that, but I'm sure there are many that don't understand how antiquated the EPA testing standard is.
In any event, realistic or not, at least it is a standard to judge between makes and models.
About the only buyers that are going to get totally screwed if they don't understand the testing criteria are hybrid buyers.
Should the EPA change their testing standard? I certainly think so, but they won't.
Given CAFE issues and the huge $$ involved that's just not going to happen anytime soon.
Even if they do change, that won't change the numbers on previously certified engines.
