I was just wondering if anyone out there is running an APR HPFP with the stock airbox. As you may have seen in my previous posts, i'm having problems with my APR pump and software. The engine is shuddering under load. I ran some data logs and i noticed that the actual engine load jumps up a lot higher than the specified engine load right at my problem area which is about 2600rpm. So i'm thinking that an aftermarket air intake can fix this????

We've got lots of customers using the HPFP with factory air boxes. Sounds like you need to do a bit more detailed logging. Check out APR's Support page. They have details on what specific areas of logging you need to view.

I've actually been working with Chris@APR and all my logs seem to be fine to him. I noticed my problem is a function of outside air temperature. From about 35degF and below the car shudders like a bast**d. However, above this temperature, it is hardly noticeable. I have been having the hardest time figuring this out.

I'm also in NYC/CT. What spark plugs are you running?? I believe the spark plugs are blowing out because of the cold weather. When it gets up to 40deg it runs good. I should gap them smaller to counter this, correct?? They were at .028. Today i threw on a carbonio intake (i was planning on getting one anyway) and gapped down to .024 to see if that would solve it.....no dice. However, the car pulls a lot harder. It's worth it. It sounds awesome as well.

Are the plugs new? I always work with the KISS principle,& only change one thing at a time. I would go thru the electrics first, because of the known problems with the coil packs. Audi has announced a recall. I have a 06 Sline & have already received my notice. If there is a problem plug, that coil pack will have to work even harder.
