Default 1. I'd get your octane mode and stock mode and lockout for whatever that costs...

which I'd guess is around $700 or something. 2. I'd watch out for sales. It is VERY common for them to offer a second program free. 3. $900 is NOTHING to me for a quality chip and i'm not loaded with money but these chips are the heart and brain of the vehicle and in europe you would think nothing of spending a couple grand on a good chip that also extends the powertrain warranty of the car. This is the single most critical component for power upgrades and even at 2 grand would still be the most hp/tq per dollar of any mod available. If one cannot afford a grand or so for a good chip than they certainly cannot afford a 12 thousand dollar engine repair which is what it would cost you to have your warranty denied on a motor failure so I would only play if you can pay.

Default The recent dealer flash upgrade does nothing to add power or performance...

so if your program feels the same you likely have a mechanical malfunction. One of the nice things about having the stock mode is you can actually do a back to back set of runs and log to make sure everything is proper. Grab a vag com and log boost. If you are seeing the proper boost pressures you are likely fine and are actually seeing an increase of around 30-40hp and 40-50tq (I was seeing about 45chp and 60ctq with 93 octane).

Default I'm just saying it would be easier to reduce power/torque at the ECU level in bad conditions.

I've used it once in a bad snowstorm in the BC interior as it was easier to control the car without the torque spike from my k04 upgrade.

The second time I used it was when I was learning to track the car in the rain at PIR.

A lot easier to learn when you don't have all the extra HP and torque to deal with on your first day on the track.
