One more thought: I'm not sure where you're coming from, but a manual transmission in Boston is gonna get annoying really fast. I too have been partial to manual transmissions for as long as I've been driving, but there's just no way I'd even consider getting one in for NYC driving, or Boston driving for that matter. The paddle shifters on most Audis today are so quick that the manual transmission is nearly becoming obsolete. When I really want to burn, in the city or on the highway, I just shift down to "S" and hardly have to tap the gas to get a neck breaking burst of speed. You'll be stunned by how much power a little 2.0 liter can pump out in sport mode.
The asphalt on both of these two horrific New York State highways/roadways should be painted in equally sized (length and width) red and green stripes like Freddy Krueger’s Christmas sweater.
Even Los Angeles, CA traffic is less horrific than Nesconset Highway (or NH for short) and Hempstead Turnpike (or HT for short) traffic.
San Francisco, CA traffic does not even come close to being as dreadful as NH and HT (though the Embarcadero isn’t all that far behind NH and HT, or, as I love to call them, A Nightmare on Nesconset Highway and A Nightmare on Hempstead Turnpike-pun intended).
