there is no definite but last time i sat in a Maserati i saw countless Audi details, from the light switches, the seat controls, to many more minute details. Supposedly they also gave them quattro for some kind of high performance rear end, or something of that nature, not really sure on the details.

Anyway, the Maserati 4.2L engine in the Quattroporte puts out 400hp with much lower torque (i think around 315). Change some of the specifics on the engine, appearance wise and what not, and add FSI and what do you get? 425hp?

I've speculated this is what they might be doing for some time now, but nothing in what I have said could be true at all.

What do you guys think?

Very True. horsepower and small details like what you mentioned are small elements in trying to see comparisons in these 2 very different engines.

Most of the technology was as RXBG stated, found in the R8. FSI baby

Audi and Maserati Joing forces to share technology? This was a REAL news release that stated that each company would give a little to each other. Someone needs to find it to confirm. Audi was going to give some of the quattro technology and maserati was going to give some of their engine performance technology. I so distinctly reading the article.. ITS REAL!
