B7 noob here. Since I left my owner's manual at home, could you decipher these for me?

Default B7 noob here. Since I left my owner's manual at home, could you decipher these for me?

Got a warning light that's an exclamation mark. On top of that another intermittent light "MPG" 1 in a circle. Please advise. TIA!

Default Speed warning. You can set a speed and if you go over it will beep and show the warning

If you mess around with the Multi Function Display it's pretty easy to accidently set a speed. Once you turn your car off and then restart I believe it turns it off.

That's it? F**k, I thought it was like a self-destruction warning or something.

Default I accidentally set the speed warning to 30mph when I was test-driving my car

It was driving me nuts! Especially on the back country roads where I was test driving the car. Constantly crossing the 30mph threshold, to the tune of the annoying warning sound.

The salesgirl was new, and did not know how to deactivate it. Eventually I found a safe spot to pull over and figure it out.

Now that I have bought the car, I make damn sure that I never turn on that warning. Although my wife threatens that she is going to read the manual and set it to 56 mph. :-)

Default I did the exact same thing on my test drive in 2005 except....

I was playing with the warning displays while crawling in traffic and, inadvertently, set it at about 15 mph.

It drove me crazy.

I kept flashing back to my old '91 100 that had electrical problems and randomly bonged different warnings every 5 minutes. It was like PTSD.

Default Ha ha! So, that goes for the exclamation mark warning as well?

BTW, good to see I am not the only one migrating from B5 to B7, hehe :-)

Default The self-destruct feature will not be available until the 2009 Model Year...

though, ejection seats (with memory) come standard with the tech packgage in 08.

Default Funny you should bring that up...

I thought that the TB tensioner issue had been fixed back in the B5 era. I know that I got the "updated" tensioners when I had the TB replaced.

I was just at my mom's yesterday and I noticed a letter from AoA sitting on her desk regarding the TB tensioner and potential part failure. This was talking about 2002-2005 model years.

Sigh.
