Hi all,
Looking for some feedback. I bought a 07 A4 Avant S-Line on Dec. 31st as CPO with 12k mi. I just noticed today that the right rear wheel liner is broken and torn at the rear of the car. The plastic bottom bracket that secures it is broken and the two flange bolts that secure above have been pulled through the material leaving the rear 1/3 of liner hanging and unsecured.
I have pampered this car since I bought it and haven't bottomed it out or anything like that. I'm not sure how it might have happened or if I even bought it like that. If it did happen on during my ownership, my best guess is that snow and ice caked in there might have had something to do with it.
Anyways, what are my odds at getting it repaired under warranty? Any guesses?

You dealer might be willing to repair it under warranty but they'd have every reason not to.
I'd be a little surprised if AoA would honor it(and reimburse the dealer for the repair) as a warranty claim.

Yea, I agree not necessarily a manufacture's defect... However, should something like that break under normal driving conditions (albiet winter conditions if that was in fact the cause)?
Anybody know where to find a price quote on that piece? Looks simple enough to replace. If the dealer puts up a fight I might just do it myself...

BTW, I haven't had rear fender liners for over a year and haven't missed them. You may want to save yourself the $$ and just take yours out.

It's not normal.
It sounds to me like something got caught on it and ripped it loose at some point.
It could have been damaged before you bought it and gotten worse with time.
I have seen ice and snow build up to surprising levels in my A4 wheel wells. I couldn't competely discount that being a factor. At least not a factor in it getting much worse, if it didn't actually cause the original damage.

sorry didn't mean to delete your post, I must have deleted mine just as you were submitting. I only wanted to move it to the spot where I meant to reply :-)
