Cam Lobe Failure Percentage/Questions
I mean for the most part people on car forums come to complain about their problems, so the real question is what percentage of B7 2.0's truly have this came lobe failure? I just bought one with 70k miles, cam follower or whatever was never replaced. Am I probably safe if it hasnt gone out yet, or am I going to be down over $1k in no time?
Where exactly in the car is it and how can I get to it to see if the 1 piece or 2 piece revision. Hearing the 2 piece revision is much better.
Thanks guys!

Have the fuel pump pulled, and the follower inspected.
The fuel pump is near the firewall on the end of the valve cover with a black plug on top, and a grey plug on the side.
Once the pump is removed, then the follower and lobe can be inspected.
Looks like this.
