i need to flush the coolant b/c i mixed with other kind. i didnt want to go to dealer b/c they are charging $200, so i was going to buy the fluid and take it to jiffy lube for $70.
i asked them how they do it, and they say they use a machine to flush it.
do you think its okay as long as i cautiously watch them as they do it?

Drain from bottom of radiator, put in distilled water and run heater on high and drive around the block for 10 minutes. Drain distilled water and refill with the right coolant from your VW/Audi dealer.
The bottom of the radiator (I believe passenger side) has a nozzle to drain out the coolant. Save yourself $200.
And I wouldn't trust JiffyLube to do it either.

You really need to be getting your car serviced by someone who has experience with Audis.
You're only causing problems for yourself by nickel and diming the service with people who don't have a clue.

with experience in Audi cars. I agree, dealerships can be rip-offs in many cases and even use techs with little experience to do overpriced labor so find a quality independent that knows and loves Audi cars. Jiffy Lube chains often know nothing of the specific requirements of these cars and you eyeballing them may not be any help.

50/50 with distilled water. Fill the expansion tank, start motor and continue filling. Leave cap open and let it get warm enough that the T-stat opens (upper hose will get warm), this will ensure coolant is circulated through the entire system purging air. Make sure to use correct coolant, NOT crap green stuff from your FLAPS. After driving a bit, check coolant level as air bubbles are purged from engine passages.
Excellent starter DIY job- easier than an oil and filter change, and your hands stay cleaner.
I would never let the monkey lads at Jiffy or the like touch any car of mine! If not DIY find a good mechanic who works on European cars, preferably someone with a german accent named Hans.

You don't 'flush coolant" on Audis,G12 is a lifetime coolant and only needs replacement when you do your timing belt/water pump service. You are throwing money away doing it any sooner than that.
