Default no, it is required

your car doesnt run the same on regular. you will get worse mileage, and lower performance. keep doing what you are doing

Default You will loose performance.

When I purchased my car the salesperson said that he alternates between regular and preminum grade gas ever other fill up. I tried putting regular in my car once. I noticed a huge difference and vowed to never do that again. I suggest you use preminum gas only.

Default and you're chipped? dood.

just dood. Don't do that.

Hopefully you're not taking it over 4k and never getting into boost.

Why would you do that to your car?

I'm pissed because they stopped selling 93 octane in my state this summer.

Default As long as you are running stock ECU software, it will safely run on 87 AKI.

The ECU will adapt to the reduced octane. Your car will run just fine but with a slight loss of performance and slight reduction in fuel economy.

Audi recommends 91 AKI for best performance and that's what I recommend you run but if you want or need to run a lower octane rating, you're safe down to 87 AKI.

WARNING: If you are chipped, NEVER use an octane rating lower than specified for your ECU program. You'd risk severe engine damage.
