Default check out this link - premium vs regular

I know its better for fuel economy but the question is it required? I thought only recommended?

Default But you should be able to mix 93 and 89 octane, right?

It seems that both the 2.0T and 3.2 recommend 91 octane. If I fill up whenever I'm down 1/3rd of a tank, why wouldn't it work to alternate between 93 and 89? I realize that's a lot of filling up, and that the octane level would dip slightly below 91 when I add the 89, but is there any fundamental reason why mixing wouldn't work?

That said, I probably won't bother. Since there's (currently) only a $0.10 difference, mixing would only save $0.05/gal. The convenience of filling up less frequently is worth more to me than that.

Default I like this quote

From the last paragraph:
<blockquote>
Does a gas expert like Beard have a preference when buying gas? "I just watch the light on the dash. After it has been on for a day I get nervous and go to the closest station available."
</blockquote>

Default Do the 2.0T and "3.2" engines have variable timing?

I saw it mentioned only once, in one of the Audi marketing brochures (but not in the tech specs, which seem to go into quite a bit of detail). Was it a mistake, or is VVT so common that manufacturers don't even bother mentioning it?

Why? To screw people w/ high-performance cars that are supposedly gas guzzlers?

Default I have logged stock cars with 87 and lets just say, I dont recommend it

There is a reason why Audi recommends certain octane.

Default 2.0T: Performance down but mileage stays the same.

The car feels less powerful but the mileage stays the same. I get around 350 to 375 miles on a full tank.
