Default CEL light and bad DV question

I think I have a bad DV (2005.5) orginal 32k miles on it. chipped apr 93...The cel came on while accelerating and now there is hardly any power...definitely feels like a 4cyl without turbo. I've ordered a new DV, but was wondering if the CEL will turn off by itself after I install it or do I need to get it cleared by a VAG tool?

Thanks

You're probably going to need a VAGCOM clearing once the new DV is in.

Did you only get the APR 93 load or a full ECU. You can clear faults with the APR software if you did. I had the same thing happen light acceleration to pass a car and the CEL started flashing. DV was torn, you can usually hear it flutter if you rev up to 3000 rpm and let off the gas
