Center caps paint fading off

Center caps paint fading off
The paint on my center OEM wheel caps has been fading off for the last couple of months. You can see the yellow plastic exposed. I use a Turtle Wax wheel cleaner and a Turtle Wax shampoo to clean my wheels, so I don't think the wash is causing the problem. I can't think of anything else being the cause except for bad quality paint??? Suprisingly the dealership told me they would replace them for free because that would be covered under the warranty. The parts department clerk told me it would cost me $50 per cap if it weren't covered by warranty! So I'm happy. Just wanted to post this in case any of you guys is having the same problem.

Yes something like that should be warrantable, but may not be if it happens again.
If it happens again they may start to blame the wheel cleaning products.
