Crack in the leather/leatherette?

Crack in the leather/leatherette?
So i just noticed there's a crack in the side bolster of the driver seat. it doesn't look like something cut it or anything. it seems like it was sat on and the material cracked. there's nothing sharp that would even hit the seat.
only had the car for 7 months with 7K on it.
disappointed that the bolsters are not actual "leather" and now just noticing that it doesn't seem to wear well either.
called up the dealer and they said they need to see it.
any idea if they will warranty this or are they going to make me pay for repairs/replacement?
thanks

Re: Crack in the leather/leatherette?
Just got my car back today from having the driver's seatback replaced. I noticed it when I was cleaning it a week ago. I've only had the car for 16 months and it's always garaged, so I couldn't believe it when I saw it. It was replaced under warranty, after the service manager looked at it. They told me I was lucky because there was only 1 black cover left in the country for a while. That could be total BS, but that's what they told me.
The idiot that fixed the seat actually left the old cover in the car, so I got to take a good look at it before I gave it back to them. The side bolsters are definitely not leather, more like a vinyl (leatherette). The middle portions of the cover look and felt like real leather. I have no idea why we would pay for leather and get just bits and pieces of it.
Good luck!
