CV /wheel bearing issue

CV /wheel bearing issue
So I've got an interesting one just pulled my axle cause I shredded my CV boot and when I looked at the back of the hub assembly where I pulled the half shaft the was grease between the half shaft and back of the hub where I'm guessing is the wheel bearing my question is do I need to regrease this area or is that from the torn boot
