Default Re: Do I have to pefrom 10K mile oil change on a leased car?

I leased mine in march and the dealer told me not to bring it back until 15K. Said i could bring it in at 5K but I don't need to that soon.
I figure I'll just bring it in then, my last BMW was the same.

Default Don't always do what the computer says

Don't always do what the computer says. My 06 A4 2.0QT was serviced for free at 5K miles, but they forgot to reset the reminder to a 10K mile interval (it is apparently set at the factory to remind you every 5K mile - my dealer says). So, at 9,9XX miles I started getting the "get service" message every time I started up. I called the dealer and they said to ignore it, just bring the car in at 15K miles, since the requirement is a 10K interval after the inital 5K change. I asked if the dealer if they thought I should change it anyway at 10K and he said - no reason not to but that customer pays for it since it is "elective" at that mileage interval. I check my oil frequently and am surprised at only about 10,900 miles how dirty looking the oil is - it is good I guess if it is srubbing the engine out, but part of me feels the 15K is a long way off and I hope the oil does not deteriorate, but since it is a lease that I don't intend to buy - not worth it.

Default Agree! Best explanation yet!

I'm willing to bet that my dealer won't charge be at 16000 km (10K miles). They strive on customer service. Wait and see.

Default I hope they will cover your 10k miles but I doubt it. It won't be covered by Audi

I told my dealership to reset my interval to 15,000 km when they forgot to.

Interesting enough, my car came from the factory with the initial service at 5,000 km, which is 3,000 miles.

Default Dealer is wrong. 1st service is 5k miles or 6 months, whichever comes 1st.

Then every 10k miles / 1 yrear. It's in the service manual. If you are well pass the initial 5k miles you should bring it in.
