Do people expect you to drive fast on snow when you drive a quattro?

Like you, I'm running wider tires that tend to float up on the snow, so I have to watch my speeds. At the same time, sometimes the plowed lanes glaze over with ice and hardpack with all the traffic, and you're better off in the crunchy stuff anyway. It's been a long time since we've had one of those storms. Looks like we might get 3 in one week.

you are correct that the rules do change. Passing is done in the uncleared lane(s) at the passer's risk. True story.
That being said, if I'm in the clear lane and holding up more than 2-3 cars I pull over and let them pass. I guess after growing up in Alaska where it is illegal to hold up more than 5 cars, I tend to bring that mentality with me everywhere.

Pa has a drive right, pass left law... unfortunatly, they don't enforce it. BUT... get caught passing on the right... and they nail you for aggresive driving.
perhaps pa should change the law to drive right, clogg left.

The police do enforce it, but it's not a rampant issue like in the lower 48.
Most people police themselves. It's a completely different type of person living up there, much less self absorbed and thinking they're better than everyone else.

I have yet to hear about them enforcing it, though. It's also legal to pass on the right in Utah as long as there is an open lane.

I know it has nothing to do with your post, but it's a huge pet peeve of mine - people don't turn their lights on in snowstorms, or clear their lights when covered with snow.
I think it's because everyone has become lazy with DRLs and forget to actually turn on their lights so that people behind them can see their car....
