Does a stock b7 a4 need to be lowered to look right after installing the 19" rs4 replicas?

I wasn't criticizing you, I was providing a factual reference for all concerned.
However, what you just said isn't true.
The aspect ratio is measurement of sidewall height as a percentage of tire WIDTH, not diameter.
Thus a 235(width)/40(percent of width)/R whatever has a larger diameter than a 225/40 R whatever.
It's a combination of all of width/aspect ratio and rim size that affect total rolling diameter.
This may have been what you've been trying to say, but it's not (to my reading anyway) what you HAVE been saying.

Okay, thanks.
Circumference is NOT diameter. Are you confusing the two? Circumference would be the same as width if you cut a section out of the tire, laid it out flat and measured side to side.
They measure the aspect ratio at circumference(sidewall to sidewall) not diameter, although your stmt is true about 235/40 and 225/40 having a different total diameter.
It Is what I have been saying all along. Go back and look.
Take it easy, you're starting to get unneccesarily worked up over this...with me at least.

We're using different terms to say the same thing
While I disagree with your definition of "circumference", in the end, we're saying the same thing so it's irrelevent and perhaps we've just been reading each other incorrectly.
As for me "getting worked up"..... I have no idea where you're getting that from.
I've got no beef with you and it takes quite a bit more than a disagreement over terminology to get me "worked up". ;-)

Okay, got ya. I agree with this. I snesed you were getting "worked up" by the last sentence in your previous post. My mistake.
I've tried to answer your questions as best as I could. And I know you've done the same. This stuff happens in a discussion forum, and unfortunately sometimes things can deteriorate and get personal. I know, I've been there.
Thanks for being honest.

235/45/17 = 235/40/18 = 235/35/19 ... Same rolling diameter...
That is the correct way people and AUDI upsizes tires to keep OEM rolling diameters (same speedometer function).<ul><li><a href="http://miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html">http://miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html</a</li></ul>
