Default I drove an 05.5... didn't notice any difference in the steering or suspension.

Maybe it was a later build.

Don't worry... be happy!

Default perhaps

you are just experiencing the "new" car vs your slightly used car. The cars are absolutely identical aside from the option packages.

Default Re: Easy there, not all salesmen are uninformed

Compare the tire pressures. Good chance the loaner was running higher pressures to make it feel like the handling was tighter and more responsive.

I agree; when i picked up my 06, the tire pressure was set to 47psi (way to high, IMHO). I backed off the pressure to 36psi, and there was a noticable difference in ride (not as crisp handling, but smoother overall on the 55mi each way to work) ....

Default I test drove both in the same day...back to back

I couldn't feel any difference at all. If I didn't look at the sticker I would have had no way of knowing which car was the 2006. I agree with other posts that thought the difference might have been the tire pressure.

My own 2006 2.0T Avant is being delivered this morning. I'll post my first impressions later this week.
