Default Forge DVFSiT

Does anyone have this DV add on or have any comments on it? I heard it bolts onto the OEM DV only for sound purposes. If anyone has it how does it sound? and is there any problems with it?

Default Posted this answer in a different forum.....

Here's the cut and paste version, word for word:

I have the Forge DVSFiT valve, which is simply a spacer that sits on top of the OEM DV. I did not replace what came stock on the car, I simply added a piece of stainless steel with 3 small holes in it to allow for the "whoosh" sound that we all know and love.

My car does not run lean, and the spacer does not make a peep unless you let OFF of the gas pedal......

What this means is that it holds full boost as the turbo is spooled up and it does NOT release pressure or air until you let off the pedal. It is not forcing the MAF to have screwy readings and it does not make a noise after each gear shift - Only after you stop accelerating.

People mistake this device for a typical BOV constantly and rant about how people should not run them.

Myself and a few others do not agree and we run them, with not one single issue to date.

Default I agree, no issues, but that sound does get annoying...

I had mine in for two weeks, and that was about all I could take. each time you take your foot off the accelerator, to change gears, it would make that noise.

Default I could see that, but.....

I think this device is best suited for us TIP guys.

We do not lose boost until we stop accelerating.
The Manual guys need to release the gas momentarily to shift gears, which would make the whoosh and could be problematic down the road for running lean because the metered air will be off.

So.....revised opinion:

Auto / TIP - Thumbs up.
Manual - Thumbs down.

Default Re: Hence the adjustable one

Are you certain this one will fit on the a4?
Cause it says otherwise on forge motorsport website
"Please note the adjustable FMFSiTA valve is not suitable for the Audi A4 due to clearance issues - please use the FMDVFSiT for these vehicles."<ul><li><a href="http://www.forgemotorsport.com/content.asp?inc=product&amp;cat=0006&amp;product=F MFSITA">http://www.forgemotorsport.com/content.asp?inc=product&amp;cat=0006&amp;product=F MFSITA</a</li></ul>
