Default FronTrak vs. Quattro

Drivers,
Wondering how much a difference the Quattro drive system makes for the driving experience overall..

I bought the FWD for the larger fuel tank and better MPG, but I'm wondering if it was the right decision.

Thanks,

I think in seattle Quattro is the way to go. Drive Quattro once in the snow and you'll be hooked

I live in Indiana where the roads are mostly flat. Also considered the Quattro but went with front drive and am very happy I did. Abslolutly no need for quattro here. The bigger gas tank is great as is the gas milage. A close friend has the same car as I in quattro and his gas milage is about 9 to 10 mpg worse than mine. Having gone through two winters I haven't been in a situation yet where I felt I needed 4wd. If I lived back in New England where I grew up I'd be singing a different tune for sure.

I think it is more so an "Audi thing" to have qauttro, I mean, they made the term and explored it and made it what it is today.

If you are in the south or whatever, maybe you don't NEED it, but I got to say, I love my quattro

If you're happy with your car, then don't worry about it. On the other hand, if you're sick of torque steer, fighting traction-control/wheelspin during hard acceleration, or want less understeer, then quattro would be an improvement.

I love the way it puts the power down. I can bury the throttle when its raining. Any powerful 2wd car will get wheelspin even when its dry. And speaking of rain, AWD makes it easy & predictable to powerslide w/o resorting to handbrake tricks (with the aid of some suspension upgrades, however).

Disclaimer: the only FWD Audi I've driven is a 2.0T A3 S-Line.

Really? That's a lot worse than I've heard. Is it the same engine? Does he do the same mix of city/hwy? Is he a leadfoot? Is it chipped? Are they both auto? Does he use 91+ octane gas?

What MPG do you get?
