GF is probably going to pick up a 2.0T tonight. Are they ok with Regular unleaded?

define "OK". It'll run, but why not just use what Audi recommends? (91+)

Default my buddy runs his 2.0T A3 w/ regular all the time w/ no problems, no knocking

tradeoff is slightly less performance and slightly less fuel economy so even though u may be saving at the pump you may not get as far on a tank of gas so it may be a wash.

Default Thats what I was guessing

With so many mainstream buyers driving the A4 now, you have to guess that many of them are opting to save the 20-30 cents a gallon because they don't want to spend the $, don't care or don't know what the benefit of 91/93 is.

I'd be curious to see some stats around mileage differences for 87 vs. 91/93, but I've always put 91 in my car and will recommend that to the GF.

Run premium only. Mileage will be lower with lower octane, half defeating the cost advantage.

It'll run on regular with reduced performance but who knows what the long term effect will be
