Glove box hinge broke any tips on a lasting repair?
My right hinge just broke off the door. I did some searching and found that this was a big B6 problem.
Has anyone come up with a good fix that actually works long term and doesn't have a screw showing through the front of the box.
I'm out of warranty so this is on my dime and I don't want to buy a new door. Also I'll drill a hole in the shock/stopper and lube it to allow it to move more freely.

Well I repaired it with plastic epoxy. I pulled and twisted it and it didn't come apart. If the epoxy doesn't hold up I'll add a metal reinforcement that I have seen done, just didn't like the look.
The piston was locked solid. I had to use pliers and pull for all I had to get it to move out. After drilling the hole and a few drops of lube it worked great.
I told the wife to be gentle with it, I want it to last as long as possible. (I just noticed that that sentence could be taken way out of context!!)
