Default Is this a good deal?

Went to the dealer tonight to price out a 2.0T w/ premium package, lighting package, technology package, sport package, and wood trim. 6-speed manual. MSRP was 35,9XX and I negotiated it down to 34,3XX which is about 500 over invoice (w/o the other fees). The lease came out to the following:

42 mo, 10k miles / year (I don't drive a lot)
$494/month including taxes, minimum drive off, money factor 0.00155, residual 50%.

Any thoughts?

I don't know about the lease part but 500 over invoice is as good as one can expect with a new model. I pretty much paid sticker for mine but I got exactly what I wanted (and then some) without the 3 month wait that some others are suffering through. No way in hell could I wait 3 months unless I had a Porsche daily driver or something.

Is it a 2005.5 or 2006?

This one is for a 2005.5 and I'd get the Audi Loyalty bonus ($1000) but the packages and payments for an '06 were virtually identical ($6/month difference)

Default hmmm, sounds strange (and expensive)

I got a quote of 36 months/15k miles at $508/month (with the IL rip off of 100% tax on the whole car). This is with $0 down. residual was 55% and money factor was .00135. It was a 2005.5 A4 2.0T for $500 over invoice w/ the $1000 loyalty. This was through Audi Financial services. The MSRP of the A4 I'm looking at is $35,870 (invoice is 33,322) selling price after loyalty is $32,822.

Your quote seems expensive because the residual is too low and the money factor seems to high. I also have an extra $40/month in IL rip off tax included in the $508/month (total tax is $74/month which is included in the $508).

FYI - I'm keeping my B6 S4 - this would be a company car for an employee

Car Crazy,

This is very helpful. It did sound suspicious to me at the time too. I'll keep shopping.

Thanks.
