Howdy all. I am new here. I came from a Volvo S60R. I ordered the sport suspension sight unseen and the misses is finding it a little floaty and stiff. ok...me too.. Now the dilemia. $250 option and $1000 to put the stock suspension on. they say i need shocks and springs. any feelings on the subject? it is a lease so i need Audi to do the work. do i do shocks? springs? or both? and what should it cost? BTW i got it from New country in Greenwich CT.
Thanx in advance and i will be around here for awhile.

You want to go back to a stock suspension with a taller ride height, softer shocks and springs, and smaller stabilizer bars? Wouldn't that be more "floaty" than the sport suspension?

I realize the terms seem odd but i do not mind the stiffness but something is not right. I had a 3000gt vr4 with selectable suspension as well as the S60R. this is more floaty, to the point of car sickness for my girlfriend. i saw one review after the fact about the sport being on the verge of harsh, i believe it. I have 1000 miles on the car and need to smooth it out. every little ripple in smooth pavement is felt. that is what i mean by floaty.

Shocks operate at multiple speeds, which can have different effects on suspension "feel"
Stiff could be from poor high speed damping from potholes and cracks in the pavement. The shock can be too firm here, ad hit the bumps harder than he'd like.
Floaty could describe the slower speed damping, like a lane change or decreasing radius turn, where the shock isn't stiff enough and causing too much body roll.
