Default How much power can the auto transmission handle......

Looking into getting an 06 or used 07 A4 Avant to make into a primary winter vehicle. Most of what I've seen are 2.0T's with auto tranny. I have no real preference of auto vs. manual for this particular application, but I would want to at least chip the ECU if I got a 2.0. Can the auto tranny handle the extra power with a chip? how about a KO4?

Default eleventy horsepower, which is about three fiddy too few to handle a k04

If you want to mod, it would be safer to get a stick.

There are a few guys who chip with an auto tranny... the B7 seems to be a little better than the B6 at handling it. But, skip the k04 or BT setups on either with a tip.

Default I am chipping, doing an exhaust, test pipe and carbonio (no gain) and hopefully the auto is ok

The Auto seems to be way superior to my dads old 4.2 in the matter of shifting quicker. My dad has an RS4 like yours nice! Hes audituders4.

Default The 6 speed tip in the B7 can easily handle 650 Nm input torque, so there ...

is no need for worry regarding the chipped 2.0T.
