How is Verizon BT different?
I am using a Motorola V710 via BT and seem to have all of the functionality that I expect. (I cannot bring up my phone's contact list on the nav screen, but I think that the cradle is required for this anyway.)
What extra features, if any, would I have if my phone wasn't crippled by Verizon?

TEL functionality for US units

Your BT is working just fine, and your contacts should show up in the cluster, not in the NAV+ (no cradle nessesary, thats why its BT )
However, the latest news is that the new 2006 NAV+ DVD that just came out has a firmware update to make the Tel functions available, as they have been for the Euro market. (except it seems that not all of the features are available yet)

TEL functionality for US units

Re: How is Verizon BT different?
Verizons Bluetooth is for calls and headset style functionality. From everything I have heard and researched a Verizon BT phone (as-is) will never transfer contacts becuase it lacks the OBEX profile which allows for data exchange.
OBEX allows for phone to any other bluetooth device data transfer, for example sending a pic form your phone to your computer.

Re: TEL functionality for US units
Thanks for the answers. I can't get the contact list on the cluster either, so I suspect that really is one of the drawbacks of Verizon.
My dealer said that the contact list would work with the cradle, but that's not worth spending almost $300 and having to take the phone out of my pocket.

I am about to deliver a S4 and it has what defunkt mention.
It is a 2006 with the updated DVD (I think it shows version 2 on the disk) and to my surprise when I pressed on TEL and syncked my BT to the car, all the features appeared on the screen:
-Missed calls
-Received calls
-Numbers diales
-Phone book (SIM card)
It also shows the name of your provider, the BT logo and the signal strength bar as well.
However on the Driver's information display only the phone book can be pulled.

Good news for me
I'm glad to hear that the updated DVD has already made it into the newest builds and the TEL functionality is there, as I am expecting a delivery in 67 days (yes, I'm counting the days )

Where can I order the upgrade DVD from? My car is a 2006, that I received 1 month ago, but did not..
come with the upgrade DVD. Is it ridiculous to have the dealer provide it to me for free? Otherwise, where is the best (meaning cheapest!) place to purchase it from?

Re: TEL functionality for US units
Hey can some one explain exactly what the new firmware Tel functions are? I just took shipment of my A4 last week and I am not sure what version of firmware my NAV+ is running.
Thanks!
