Has anyone had any experience replacing the full size spare with a donut and getting a flat trunk liner? If that is possible, where did you get the flat liner & donut wheel?
Thanks,
Scott

Don't do that! Full size spare for a reason (see within - someone else can probably explain better?)
Audi says for the Quattro, tires must be within 4/32" in diameter. Why the spare is full size.
The reason - I can't explain it very well but it has to do with making the drivetrain/differentials work overtime to compensate for the difference. This can lead to damage - I assume expensive and not covered under warranty either.
A search on the forums should reveal more.

Not all Audi's came with a full size spare...
And the donut that was included was indeed the same rotating diameter as the stock tires (or darn close).
But..why in dear god would you want to do such a thing..

Donut wheel = steel. Full size wheel = aluminum. Probably not much weight difference.
If you want to save weight, then get runflat tires and eliminate the spare altogether.
