Default Actually, It was a Avant Cargo mat

I was tired and only looking at the picture. I saw the net, but it was only part of the picture. I never found the net from the Audi site.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audi-collection.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=8A9061462A+52F&amp;SKW=AUA4&amp;Ca t=car&amp;SubLevel=12&amp;lcat=">Cargo Mat</a></li></ul>

Default Get a rubber cargo floor mat too

I got one from Costco for my '98, and kept it to use with my '06. It is an *almost* perfect fit, and fits between the tie-down hooks quite nicely. It won't keep things from flying around during spirited driving. But it does a better job of holding things in their place than the standard carpet.
And if something should spill, it contains the spill.

And you can still use it in conjunction with the net.

Default I probably will

My Gorilla mat served a similar purpose and was more like carpet. But it had a lip to it. It also blended in nicely with the stock carpet.

Won't that hump that we have covering the spare wheel kiinda ruin rubber cargo matt idea?

Really? Mine has a hump/bubble over the spare tire area. It is not flat back there for me.

Default Is your car Quattro or FWD? Do you have a full size spare?

My '98 had a flat trunk. My '06 has a hump, but it's only the cover for the spare. Quattro drivetrain, full size spare.
My '98 had a donut spare, hence the flat trunk.

I still use my rubber mat in the trunk -- it actually fits well -- it covers the hump, but the perimeter of the trunk is exposed. So I can still use my tie-down hooks.

On a different note, I had test driven the Volvo S40 T5 AWD before I got my '06 A4. Not only was the throttle response even slower than my A4's. But the entire trunk floor was raised up about 2-3" to accomodate the AWD drivetrain. I don't even think it had a full-size spare! (Not sure though). I was really disappointed in that car.

Default I have Quattro and a full size spare.

Maybe the '06 has a different trunk configuration?

Default Maybe... when you get a chance, measure from the trunk opening to the trunk floor.

Wondering if they raised up the whole trunk floor, as Volvo did.

Default Oh, I see. To get rid of the hump...

It's raining now. I'll check a little later.

I do know that my Passat trunk had a much bigger opening. I know the A4 is smaller, but when I went to put a box in the trunk, it was apparent just how much smaller it is.
