Hello Everyone:

I'm a real newbie here. Just bought a 2006 Cabriolet (1.8) and haven't even registered it yet. It's in great shape with on 40K miles on the clock.

My problem is the Sirus radio. When I go to SAT the system says "Linking", which means it's looking for a Sat signal. It goes on like this forever. I picked up an Audi service CD and located the SAT radio (left trunk wall) and the SAT antenna (huge beast in the center of the trunk lid). If I wiggle the wiring around I can get reception for a few seconds. I did some research and found that there is a problem with bad wiring caused by bending of the cables as they go from the body thru the rubber boots into the trunk lid. Unfortunately the manual doesn't seem to have an actual wiring diagram that shows where the green and brown terminated cables on the Tuner go to in the trunk lid. In addition to the antenna, there are 2 amplifiers in the lid.

Does anybody have any information that could help me. I'm really very hesitant to take the problem to Audi - because I see a potential 4 or 5 hour fishing expedition to trace the problem. Also, my Ego gets in the way because I used to do this stuff for a living. It's just that without a diagram automotive wiring looks like a hopeless jumble.
