iphone - ipod direct wire in 2005.5 a4?
Hello all. Did a search but couldn't find anything. I would like to connect my iphone for use as an ipod directly in my a4. Anyone know of a kit or way to do this? Don't want wires and stuff going all over the place or to use an itrip setup. Just wondered if there is something better out there.
Thanks,
Kurt

I use Dension Gateway 100, a great kit that does DIS text and steering wheel control.
You can buy it here: http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_s...N_GW16AC1.html
Enfig also have videos on youtube showing you how to install and how it works.
Hope this helps

Does the GW16AC1 work with and charge an iphone? I just bought a 2008 A4 which has the in-glove box ipod dock and discovered I cannot use it with my iPhone 4 at all. It doesn't even charge it. I just want to get a 30-pin ipod cable to come out of the arm rest that I use to charge my phone and listen to my podcasts.

Yep, the GW16AC1 works just fine with iphone4, it plays and charges the phone. It even works with the iPad, but only tickle charge the iPad. So answering your question, the GW16AC1 work with ALL existing lines of iPods and iPhones.
Best of all, the GW16AC1 can be upgraded via the firmware for furture devices.

Hua, that is really interesting. I found the instructions under their support section and you're right, you just copy a set of "special" MP3's and a playlist to your iPod and play it to perform the update.
I guess that takes the wind out of the $50 sails of the GW33AC1. Thanks for the heads up!
