When you lease a car, can you break the lease early to switch or transfer to another car of the same make?
Say I wanted to lease an A6 for three years, can I after switch over to an A8 lease after one year?

usuallu not..you are generally married to the car for the lease term. Sometimes a manufacturer, or dealer, will allow you get out early to get into another same make car, but not something I would count on

With many car leases there is typically a "pay-out schedule" that specifies what you must pay to purchse the car before the lease ends. With a two or three year lease the payout amount is often greater than the retail value of the car until quite late in the lease term.
You may have some leverage to cut a lease short if you are offering to purchase or lease another vehicle from the same organization. However, it is possible that you would get dinged on that transaction if they try to carry-forward some of the first lease's shortfall.
Good luck!

With Audi, you are liable for all the lease payments. If you are buying another Audi you have two other options available to you:
1. If your new car is not in yet, you may keep your leased Audi by just extending the payments until you take delivery of the new car.
2. Audi will now pay up to your final two lease payments if you lease a new Audi.
My A6 lease is up at the end of November, but my new A4 will be in late October. In my case, Audi will credit the last lease payment towards my new lease.

Here's How It Works
Like leasing, your monthly payment is calculated based on the portion of your car that you use during the term. Terms can be from 12 to 48 months. You make a down payment and enjoy your new or pre-owned Audi, paying lower payments than you would with conventional financing. The final payment is a balloon amount that is predetermined at the beginning of the contract.
As that balloon payment comes due, you have three choices.
You can pay off the contract balance and keep or sell the vehicle.
You can refinance the final balance with Audi Financial Services.
You can return the vehicle. Just notify us 30 days prior to the contract end date and make arrangements to turn in your vehicle.*
I was able to get 300 per mo 42mo 10k down
car w/tax 40k

I moved from an A4 to an S4 11 months into my lease (42).
Dealer called AFS to get a payoff quote for the A4, offered me a fair price, and I paid what I was upside down. (yes, somewhere around bend over, and bend way over)
Audi was very easy to work with, btw.
