M3 owner's observations
Friend of mine, an owner of 2004 M3, asked me to try my A4. He end up druling all over it!!!! He was particularly impressed with the quality of the interior and quietness (!!!!!) of the engine and suspension! Just my 2?.

having extensively driven both an A4 and an M3 here are my observations....
I always loved coming back to my car because it is more refined. However, if I was picking one I would no longer be an Audi driver. It was the convertible M3 that we had, but if it was up to me I'd have a coupe without a second thought about it.
The M3 is great at being a daily driver yet an incredibly enjoyable sports car. Perfectly blend of power, handling, just enough refinement on the inside to be the perfect all around car. We had the SMG II Transmission. That was an absolutely blast to drive. I would have probably wanted a stick, but turning on the fastest shift program, turning on Sport Mode, Turning Off Traction Control and wow the M3 is amazing !
Yeah at the end of the day I always loved my A4, but I love the E46 M3 and would drive it over any other car in the price range...
