Default MMI locked in safe mode, don't have PIN!!!!

I just bought an '07 A4. Great Car ... but... paired it with my blackberry using bluetooth. At the time, it didnt ask for a pin, or if it did, I enterred 1234. A few weeks later, the MMI turned red and asked for the PIN. When I enterred 1234 it came back with invalid PIN, and now the whole MMI is inoperable, including the stereo. I makes me drive for 60 minutes before I can even enter another guess at the PIN. Not getting much help from Audi or the Blackberry support. Looks like previous owner must have changed the PIN. Anybody have any idea how to fix??

Default sounds like you're talking about the radio code, not the BT pin. The default pin is 1234 which can

be changed to any 4 digit number via VAG-COM. If you're talking about the BT pin, find someone with a VAG-COM and have them check Adaptation Channel 135 of the Telephone Module.

That said, it really sounds like you're talking about the radio code. That code should have been included with the the owner's manual when you bought the car.

Thanks. After scanning more through your site I found some stuff under 'safe mode' and it looks like it is the radio code I'm looking for. t. I did try 1234 a number of times and it didn't work, so it is probably not my BT.

I've got all my manuals open. The main owner's manual and the Navigation System / MMI manual do not seem to have any information that would be car-specific inside. The Maintenance manual has a sticker inside with the VIN# and a bunch of other stuff, but I'm having trouble identifying any part of it that would be the radio code. There is a 14 digit number at the very top which is broken up by some hyphens and has no labels - and I tried the last 4 digits with no luck.

At the risk of sounding totally dumb, would you have any idea where I should be looking for the code?

Default My radio code is imprinted on a removeable card on the inside flap of the Symphony II manual

The card lists both the 4 digit radio code as well as the serial number of the headunit. If the card isn't there, and if you can't find it anywhere else, your dealer should be able to locate / look it up.

The radio code may also be just a simple sticker affixed to the inside cover of the radio manual that contains just the code and s/n.

Default

The PIN is on top of the unit. You can remove it and check it (or ask Dealer to do it)
