Default same here, they would tell you "its because of imperfection of the roads"

or some other bull**** excuse, I gave up after a few tries, they mostly blamed it on my sport suspension....

Yes, or it will drive you nuts. However, it is a minor adjustment. Steering wheel off-center is the single most common complaint that shops (tire stores and such) get after they do wheel alignment work. I've had this problem with both a Saab and a Toyota. The wheels can be in perfect alignment but the steering wheel can be off-center.

Default on your stock sport.. or your aftermarket

If it was aftermarket then it verywell could have been its fault if it was not properly aligned afterwards.

When doing an alignment you need to center the wheel if the tech does nto do this properly and sets the toe based on a steering wheel off center then the wheel will be off.. They can either redo toe or correct the steering wheel position.. depending on the car one or the otehr can be easier.

If the wheel is on sometimes and off otehr times then its the crown in the road.. Alot of people like to get angry at shops for blaming the problem on this but the fact remains that the problem is most often this and nothing with the car.

Default I'm a dealer tech and I did my alignment today at 11K under warranty on my A3

I'll try and find out the details tomorrow.
