I had the RNS-E nav unit retrofitted to my 2008 A4 2.0 (Premium Pkg/Bose/Bluetooth) - everything works great except the navigation. I enter the destination, and, even though I'm in NY, it shows that I am in Detroit and calculates the route from there. Pushing some other button showed me that there were "0" satellites being picked up by the receiver. I was told it was a plug and play installation, I'm beginning to think that isn't actually the case.

My RNS-E did a similar thing when I installed it. Mine was from Poland so it was coming up with some wierd locations.

You need make sure it is set to the correct region in the software. It's in the setup somewhere, and can be changed pretty easily. Sorry, I can't remember exactly the steps to do this and my car is at the dealer for a couple of days so I can't give you exact steps.

Also, it sounds like your GPS antenna is not seeing the sky. Make sure you're outside and also make sure the GPS antenna hasn't fallen down in your dash. It's magnetic, so I have mine on a metal cross piece in the upper part of the dash. When I was first installing my unit the antenna puck would fall and I'd see no satellites.
