I did a lot of research and i am 95% prepared to do a gear oil flush. However, i just came across a thread that says for the
6 speeds, there are 2 drain plugs but only 1 fill plug? I understand 1 is for the differential and 1 for the gear box, but are they in fact both sharing the same compartment?? Can somebody please clarify?

Well people, i did the gear oil flush and i did not need ANY of the special tools that used to be required. I guess i should have not been lazy and checked under the car before i took other people's word for it. All i needed was a simple, larger than usual, allen wrench that was found right in my tool box. I only opened the drain plug that was directly beneath the tranny and it seemed to drain out fine. Just in case, i jacked up the rear of the car to let any extra drain forward. I'm sure i didn't get every last bit out, but whatever if there's a tiny bit of old mixed with the new.

It is a 10mm hex.

And how what fluid did you use and how much of it? What made you decide to do the oil change?

Had some service done and talked to one of the techs. He said
60k is a good time to do it. They say the life of the oil is 62k miles. Alos, the tranny was beginning to get noisy. After changing the oil, it got better with a few days. I am really surprised at how well it turned out. Used OEM fluid. I was going to put Motul Motylgear 75w90. Is that stuff ok for the tranny??
