Need info on 2006 A4....Pros and Cons...
Hi all !
I am looking into buying my first ever "new" car. And i love the A4 Avant..I love the way they look ! A super sexy sport wagon...
I have looked a several 06 cars..(so its not to expensive) . Are there any issues with these cars or constant compliants ?
Thanks in advance !

All issues will cover by your local dealership with your 06 model. (PCV, cold start, coolant leak, etc)
If you ask me, I don't like the location of the cup holders. You can have a drink/handbrake or arm-rest; but not both!

My family and I are on our 3rd Audi and they have been buillet proof overall.
Had a 2001 A6 4.2 which needed no maintance whatsover. Now have a 2006 A4 2.0T and a 2007 RS4 which are also great cars.

06' Avant comments
I very much like mine.
Mine is somewhat uncommon. Avants in general are rare compared to sedans, but mine is a 3.2 with 6 speed manual. Great on trips. Great in the snow and cold. Lots of room for stuff.
It's been a great car so far. Only minor issues:
1. Condensation in passenger side headlight. Dealer replaced it no charge
2. Odd behavior with key fob remote. Dealer replaced it no charge. No issues since.
3. Driver's side window scratched very easily (scraped with plastic ice scraper). Dealer won't replace.
4. Cracks in "pleather" seat bolster. Apparently a "non-unique" problem. Dealer is contemplating a replacement. On my next Audi, I will certainly get 100% leather seats.
Loves
1. Quattro.
2. The 3.2 V6. Yes, it's that good.
3. Dash ergonomics. Everything makes sense, and I adore the red lighting scheme.
4. Quattro.
5. Build quality. No squeeks or rattles. Feels tight as a drum.
6. High-speed stable. The car wants to go fast. It feels very much at home at above legal speeds...so, overtaking is not a problem.
Gripes
1. I hate the center armrest. Audi did not do their homework on this.
2. I don't like the buttons to control the temperature. ***** are better.
3. Seatbelt chime is annoying. Need simple VAG work to fix
4. The fake leather. (Pleather)
5. Washer fluid tank is too small. I have headlight washers, and it does not last long enough for my liking.

Depends on your driving habits, maintenance habits and modifying habits :D
Overall I think Audi's are decently reliable as long as you maintain the car properly and if you modify, don't cut corners and don't always drive it like you stole it.
I have had several problems before 15k miles, but my car has a decent amount of Mods and I ALWAYS drive it like I stole it. I think that's why I average about 12-14mpg on my 2.0T
at 12k miles
Blown PCV
Fail low pressure fuel pump
Failed Turbo
Also if you look at a lot of issues on the forums, you have to keep in mind, most here are enthusiasts who drive their cars harder than most and who modify their cars more than most. So when you hear about a guy complaining about his broken car, he is probably Stage 40000 running 50 millions PSI on a 2.0T with stock internals and no supporting mods...Of course things will break!
Hope this helps and gives some perspective.
I also have two other friends one with a 1.8T B6 and a 2.0T B7 and they have about 30-50k miles on their cars with zero problems (except for one failed coolant tank). Both of their cars are 100% stock and they drive like normal people

Avant vs Sedan ???
First off, i want to thank everyone for the input and sharing there experiences with me.
I would realy like to get the Avant (there is one in the classifieds that caught my eye). But is there a preferance towards one model ? It seems the Avants are harder to come by.
As for doing mods to the car, I prefer the simple and clean type of car. I dont need wings and things , and a car to go from 0-60 in 2 seconds. I am getting married , and expecting little ones shortly there after. My days of driving around in an Old Coupe GT or a old Rabbit are numbered. NOT that i dont enjoy it, i am tired of working on S**t all the time.
I think some off you might know what i mean..
