Best bet for FSI is still 5k intervals or the use of an oil extractor. At least the dealer has some new products for those interested.

Probally some floating around. In fact, dealers use drums of it. This oil would have to be requested

Bringing car in tomorrow for 5k service, will have to ask if they have that oil in 5w-40.

Do you mean the old Belgian-style 5w-40? The new VW504/507 oils are 5w-30.

My car is "supposed" to have 5w-40 so that is why I was asking.

Ok, wasn't sure.This thick 5w-30 outperforms 40 weights in VW503 / ACEA A3 applications w/better mpg

Not my 1st choice, but good in some apps.

Don't forget about the fuel dillution issues with FSI and how poorly the old VW 502 oils worked for RI_RS4 as he developed the RLI BioSyn products with Terry Dyson. Search around or ask me to if you are interested.
