Default Newbie: 2006 A4 2.0T Shopping - Manual or Auto (w/ Sport Shift)

Looking at the A4 Quattro 2.0T, wondering about drivetrain impacts. I have heard about acceleration lags with the manual 2.0T, does the auto suffer as well? Let me know if looking at the auto is a mistake. Thanks!

Also, any other advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

Default Lag... isn't it the other way around?

The auto has a bit of a lag initially, I never experienced any lag with the manual.

Test drive both and see for yourself.

Default Auto has slight lag from standing start. Nothing

that you can feel once rolling though. Love the Tip.

One more question - Is the S-line package worth about 4K (6 spd, wheels, brakes, badging)? How rare is a '06 S-line 2.0T manual?

Default I think that A4 2.0T is better fitted with a manual, but dut to the fact that I plan on using mine

as a family sedan and share it with my soon to be wife, I really don't mind the automatic. If I didn't have the TT to play with, I'd probably have to have the stick in the A4. So essentially, I'm just looking for the right car and I'll be happy with either tranny.

Default Daily Driver = Auto. If not....MT

I have the Tip...that's where the LAG is. the only MT lag I have ever seen is user error ;-)

If I didn't drive stop and go backroads all the time I'd have the MT.
