Default Nitrogen filled tires.....

I made an appointment to get my summer tires put on and they asked if I wanted them to be filled with Nitrogen.

Anyone have any experience with this, any pros or cons with Nitrogen over regular air??

Default what I've heard

Reduces oxidation of the tire from the inside.

Gas is more stable than oxygen, (less changes due to temperature)

Overall it is better, but for most people not worth the effort.

It's better if they're the same price. I wouldn't pay for it though -- certainly not much, anyway.

Default if free...take it....

it holds its pressure through temp changes better. No real down side. If you need to add more, it usually is too inconvenient to find nitrogen, and you'll just add regular air.
One selling point I see for nitrogen is that it reduces oxidation...important if you plan on keeping car a long time & have tire pressure monitors...which are very costly to replace when they oxidize.

Default We use it all the time in racing

Idea being low moisture content, reducing changes in inflation pressures when hot.

Or it just makes cars lighter

again, there is no downside-only benefits, take it if it's free.
