Oil sensor light

Recently the check engine light came on in my '06 Audi a4 2.0 quattro. I figured that it was low on oil (nothing new here), and therefor added a quart, which is pretty much the norm in advance of the scheduled oil change. Anyway, after I added the oil, the check engine symbol disappeared (after I pressed the CHECK button in the instrument cluster), but then the oil sensor symbol appeared at the top of the driver information display, and has stayed on sense. I checked to make sure that the dip stick and filler cap were in/on correctly, which they were. Is there any way I can turn the sensor symbol off, short of going to the dealer, or might there be a more problematic issue here, over and above the symbol staying on? Thanks in advance for any thoughts and advice.
