Kel.
Drive the car to get it to warm up. Coolant reservoir cap off. Then proceed with the steps I outlined earlier. It's important to let the car cool down to ambient with the cap back on.
Also, you can bleed air from the system from the top bleed port on the very top hard pipe. 10mm plug. See pic below.
I borrowed pic from the web, disregard the red circles. And the fact that the valve cover is off....
Caution when hot. Just loosen the plug a little and let air/coolant sizzle out. Retighten. Don't take the plug out all the way. You'll get a face-full of hot coolant!
Better yet, since you have little experience with this sort of thing.....crack the plug loose with the engine cold. Then start the car. Bleed off air then re tighten the plug. I don't want you to get scalded. Haya...

Hey friends. I’m not sure what’s going on here with my car. Have check engine light on and P2181 code, had EPC light up as well but now it’s gone. Fans are running high speed all the time, I did have a coolant leak from one of the tubes some time ago and that is when problem started, replaced one of the broken tubs. Took to Audi they said it was air and they removed it car was fine now it’s back, time frame is months apart. Fans are running all times, bought new fans, new fan module, changed coolant sensor, replaced auxiliary pump, water pump and thermostat. I was speaking with a gentleman here stated could be air bubble in coolant tried removing reservoir cap setting cabin temp to high and fan speed to low (1 bar) and let car run for a bit. No avail, he also mentioned there is a valve to loosen up to let air out, but I don’t know where this is located. Any help here?
Kel, okay.
If the procedure I spelled out does not work for your A6, (it should) then you need to improvise the best you can. Here is a little video that shows how to purge an air bubble on a VW. Not the same but similar to your A6. Good luck. Haya....

Hey everyone wanted to share what fixed my fan always operating on high power for my 2013 Audi A6 2.0T. So the shop I brought to changed the transmission thermostat. That solved the issue.
