I have been looking at choices for an all season high performance tire in a 235/40/ZR18. I have been reading reviews etc, and find it fairly hard to come to a conclusion. I thought I would ask the AUDI community...
Thanks!

My EPS light is popping on all over the place. The side wall is noticeably softer and there is an overall mushy feeling compared to the Contis. I'll get used to it, but there is a hUge difference in traction around corners.

But if you don't mind a loss of cornering performance for a bit more comfort in the ride, they might be Ok.
But my OEM Dunlops in 45 series aspect ratio had a stiffer sidewall than them. I personally wouldn't buy them again.

For what they were, they were a great all round tire. I had occassion to use them in only light snow, but they did well.

summer grip is something less than ultra high performance. If you don't drive your car too hard these are great tires for the money. I got them back when they were $80.00 each. Great deal back then...

car very hard and I have no complaints whatsoever for winter use. I have had them in deep snow a couple of times and they seem great. Just this week I was able to drive them in 1" slush and up my driveway where the bumper was plowing very wet snow and I made it up hill into my garage with only some struggle. VERY quiet too. When I need new tires I will purchase them again without a doubt.

They handled pretty decently in dry weather but would slip a little when it was wet. I also have Pirreli P6 Four Seasons 215/55/16 on my winter set, and I love them. Good in the snow (although when they run out I will be getting designated snows) and they ride beautifully otherwise. But I would just do a designated winter/summer tires.
