OK this is basically for fun since I'll have the answer tomorrow.

Today CEL/MIL came on in my A4. Just over 32K miles, warranty expired 3 weeks ago (of course). 5 weeks ago I had the 35K service done and asked them for pre-warranty expiration inspection, meaning pls try to find whatever may be lurking.

When I pressed the service button, and coolant and low oil pressure warnings were on. I checked the oil and its the color of dark maple syrup. Not black and congealed, but certainly does not have the color of new oil (medium honey ? an Amstel ? that amber liquid glue we had when we were kis ? other metaphors anyone ?).

So, anyone think the dealer actually forgot to change the oil ?? if so that will be a new record for me in being pissed and relieved all at the same time. My fear is its something worse ...

They may have changed it. It really depends on how many miles you have driven since the oil change. Our engines "cook" the oil since they are a turbo car. The oil will turn dark sooner then other engines you may be familer with. Hope this helps. I would make sure they changed it though.
