Going to lease a 2.0T auto, but not sure if Quattro or FrontTrak CVT. How much does Q hurt performance (extra weight) or does the weight make the car look lower (less wheel gap)? CVT has better mpg but have they worked out the kinks (sometimes odd pulley shifting)?.
I live in S. Cali with no rain/snow, but would be nice to have the comfort of Q if needed...just wondered if it's worth it. I test drove the FrontTrak and it handled great on hard turns. The Q is only $20 more/month for a lease (24 month = $480).
Thanks!

I had a frontrac tiptronic on my old B5. I had it lowered and I will admit it did handle pretty well for a fwd car, but I don't think I could even remotely compare it to my B7 Quattro lowered. The hadling is superb and the car is pretty much glued to the ground. I feel a lot more confident taking hard turns now than I did with my old car, no matter what weather conditions rain or shine. It's also a great saftey feature knowing you have more control over the car.

I had a B7 FWD and gave it up for a B7 Quattro. I can tell you from my own experience, you want Quattro. You can definetly feel more grip on the hard turns. In addition, it will help you if you decide to sell the car later on (you will get the northern state market).

so I didn't NEED Quattro persay. That said, after two CVT cars, and now Quattro, I can say I wouldnt go back to CVT.
