retrofitting memory on driver's seat.

Re:Yes, but very expensive and time-consuming
I looked into doing this mod and this is what I found. The parts alone would be about $600-700 for everything. The wiring would be a mess, you need to splice about 40 some wires into the current controls and motors on the drivers and passenger side. I figure it would be a 20+ hour job, if you know what you are doing. It certainly would not be plug-n-play.

just unbelievable
I can't believe they removed the memory seat option on the 2007 2.0t. Extremely useful and convenient when there is more than one driver. What kind of marketing move was that? Some of us actually prefer the 4 cylinder over the 6; fuel economy, price?
So the wiring harness for the memory seat module is not there in the seat? Do the motors still have the position feedback voltage output needed, or are there two completely different motor parts? What about the side mirrors? Seems like it would be more practical for Audi to keep one production line for the seats and mirrors and then just not include memory seat module, but who knows.

Wondering on whether it's the US/euro
It was surprising that they kept that feature for the Canadian models, would have assumed that the B7 for the US and the one for Canada would be the same.
