We played with it extensively and all agreed that the ergonomic design was great for the passenger, but **** poor for the driver.

Not too many other Nav system do that for you.
You don't have to look at the map on a constant basis.

The Navigation feature on its own is outstanding. I can't imagine being without it now. It was the one option I was really on the fence about but I am SO GLAD that I got it.
What is designed really poorly is the integration of the stereo system inputs (particularly the cd player and the SD cards -- the radio isn't too bad). These really fall flat. They work fine, but there is just so much potential there that wasn't used.

The SD card implementation overall just feels very buggy.
I hate having to hit "return" several times to see what folders I have on the card. It took a long time to even figure that out. Also and sort of related, needing to hit the corner "MP3 List" softkey to see what's on the other card is very counterintuitive. Further, this view will never show what folders are on the card, just the first few. Overall it should be MUCH easier to see what you have on both cards and be able to select any of the contents. This should all be able to be done from one menu.
Sometimes, and I haven't been able to pin it down, but entire groups of songs disappear...then if I restart the engine they are back.
Also, sometimes it will finish playing the contents of one folder, but instead of going to the next folder on the card it just starts with the first folder on the card.
And the biggest killer...in random mode when you skip a song it takes you out of random mode. That's just horrible.
I have two 512 meg cards that I use...and I know the manual says to use a max of 256 meg. So maybe all these issues have to do with the size of the cards. But it feels more like sloppy programming.

I use 1GB cards and I haven't had the same problems that you have had. I agree the card 1, card 2 thing is kind of odd. Coming from the crap Porsche puts in their cars, this is an amazing unit.
