Short Grinding Noise when Ignition Start (NOT WHEN You turn it too far)
Anyone have this? When I park my car in gear it doesnt happen. When I don't, and start it up, there a short (.5 second) noise, sounds like a short grinding sound.

ditto, I think it might be normal
I think others have posted about the same issue.
I always put my car in 1st and set the parking brake. Some mornings when I start the car it makes a grinding sound for a fraction of a second, after the engine has fired and after I have released the key.
It dosn't do it every time, maybe one time in five.
I can't find any link between temprature, humidity, phases of the moon, etc.
I'll mention it the next time I go in for service, but the car has been doing it now for many months, so I guess it's no big deal.
