Default Should I chip?

Hi everyone.... I have 2006 2.0T CVT. I have put milltek exhaust and test pipe. I've also installed carbonio intake. I notice the power gain but I was thinking to chip my car with REVO. But Im worried about my tranny... anyone here has done it? thanks

Default With a CVT? Doubtful

I'd be curious to see if anyone on this forum has been successful (short and long term) at chipping with this tranny

Default 2nd...if there was one knock on the CVT, it's that it is known NOT to handle

large hp and torque. Good luck with that.

Default Spoke to the guys at e-code about this a couple weeks ago...

they assured me that the CVT is perfectly capable of handling the increased power and torque of chipping. they said the reason people doubt the ability of CVT to handle the increases is because one model year (i believe '04) had problems with the CVT. other than that year, they assured me they haven't seen any problems unique to the CVT. give them a call if you have any questions and i'm sure they can explain it in much more detail. if you're concerned about the large power/torque increases with chipping, you might want to go with the more conservative APR. i had the APR trial installed on my car (couldn't afford to chip at the moment) and loved the difference that chipping made.

Default Correct

The CVT is non-quattro and is a front wheel drive tranny...and from what I've read, people have been successful with chipping the Tiptronic

Default But he also has a test pipe + intake

so the combined power numbers may exceed a simple flash of his ECU
